Six die in Deoghar due to poisnous gas inside septic tank

Deoghar: Six men lost their lives due to suffocation inside a septic tank under Devipur Police Station area of this district.

The deceased have been identified as Brajesh Chandra Barnwal (50), Mithlesh Chandra  Barnwal (44) both of them are brothers. Gobind Manjhi (50) who was a Mason and his two sons Banglu Manjhi (30) and Lalu Manjhi (24) and a labourer Lilu Murmu (27).

Police said that the centering work of the under-construction toilet located in the house Brajesh Chandra Barnwal was being opened from which poisonous gas leaked out and one by one all the men became unconscious and fell inside the tank.

After police received information about the incident it used a JCB to break the under construction toilet and took out the men who were rushed to Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared them dead.

Upon receiving information Deoghar DC Kameshwar Prasad Singh also reached at the hospital. He said that the doctors have been asked to perform the postmortem while the CO of Devipur has been asked to provide immediate compensation as per provision to the kin of the mason and the labourer.
