Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday participated in a video conferencing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the rising cases of coronavirus in the country.
Interacting with the press after the end of the meeting the Chief Minister said that the coronavirus situation in Jharkhand at present was under control however the government is keeping eye over it and is adopting all possible precautions to prevent the spread of the disease.
He said that in Jharkhand maximum number of patients are being found in Ranchi and Jamshedpur and in Ranchi the number of active patients of coronavirus was between 325-350 while in Jamshedpur also there were 80-90 active patients. He said that in these districts there is movement of people on a large scale from inside and also outside of the state.
Apart from that the state government is keeping an eye on the situation across all the other districts. The Chief Minister said that the government has made arrangements of Corona testing at the airport and is taking essential steps for ensuring test across the rail routes in the state. He further said that at Panchayat level also vaccination drive is being conducted.
He said that so far five lakh people have been given the first dose of coronavirus vaccine in the state while nearly 1 lakh people have been also given the second dose of the vaccine.
The Chief Minister said in the meeting with the Prime Minister which had been called on a very short notice the Chief Ministers of states where number of coronavirus cases is rapidly increasing aired their views. In the meeting he said that like earlier stress was given on adopting all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, however the state government in Jharkhand since beginning has been adopting all the possible strict measures as part of which classes from below 8th standard have not been opened while there is also a ban on processions and agitation and gathering of 1,000 people is also prohibited in the state.
