Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday distributed appointment letters among 27 players of the state and said that the government was taking all possible steps for encouraging sports and sports persons in Jharkhand.
Addressing a function organised in this regard at the project building here he said that as part of the initiative first in the districts sports officials were appointed and today players who have made a name for the state at national and international level competitions are being provided appointment letters. He said that these players who despite limited resources have achieved great success in their fields which is laudable. The Chief Minister said that sports has great importance in the life of the people of Jharkhand and what is needed is to bringing out the hidden talents and the government has started taking steps in this regard.
He said that players who could not get the benefit of direct recruitment today need not be disappointed as the government was planning to bring new schemes for all the sports and players which would provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents. He said that to create an environment conducive for sporting activities the state government will take all necessary steps and in this regard various national and international level sports meet will be organised in Jharkhand so that the players from the state can get an opportunity to showcase their skill and achieve success on the basis of their talents.
The Chief Minister said that there is tremendous opportunities in every area in Jharkhand therefore by speeding up the development process Jharkhand can be made to stand among the developed states of the country. He said that his government is trying to make optimum utilisation of resources present inside the state to take the state forward.
Adding further he said that just few months into the formation of the new government the world was hit by coronavirus pandemic and even Jharkhand could not remain away from it. He said that all the system was stopped due to the pandemic but the people of the state showed great courage and supported the government due to which it was successful in tackling coronavirus to a great extent. He said that it is the result of the better management of the state government that Jharkhand is among the leading state in the battle against coronavirus.
The Chief Minister said that the danger of coronavirus is still not over and in many states of the country it is rapidly increasing therefore there was a need to remain aware and alert against it. He said that despite all the odd circumstances the state government it was trying to work in every field for the betterment of the people.
Secretary of the sports department Puja single said that among the 27 players who have been given appointment letters during the function they all have been appointed in the home department and among these 27 player 17 are female and 10 are male. The players who have been given appointment letters today have represented the state in the sports of Archery, Wushu, Karate, Lawnballs, Taekwondo, Cycling, Handball, and Boxing.
