Lohardaga: An SIT has been formed for a fair investigation of the violent clash which took place during the Ram Navami procession in Hirahi Bhokta Bagicha area of this district. A team has been constituted under SDPO BN Singh will investigate every aspect of the matter.
Lohardaga SP R Ramkumar gave this information to the journalists on Thursday. The SP said that till now a case has been registered against 14 people in this case. At the same time, a total of 8 people have been arrested so far. He said that an adequate amount of police force has been deployed in various villages including Hirahi.
Along with this, 24-hour patrolling is also being done. He said that to maintain peace and order in the district, meetings of peace committees are being held in villages and soon a meeting of the peace committee will be organized in every locality.
On the occasion, the SP appealed to the people of the district to maintain peace and told them to convey any kind of information or information to the police administration. The SP said that the name and address of the informer would be kept confidential.
Violent clashes had broken out between two communities near Hirahi village on Sunday after stones were pelted at people involved in the procession on the occasion of Ram Navami. During this, 10 bikes and a van were set on fire. One died and 12 people were injured in this accident.
Many injured were referred to RIMS in Ranchi for better treatment. After this incident, the district administration had stopped former Chief Minister Raghubar Das from going to the village to meet the families of the victims.
