Mumbai: Veteran actor Anupam Kher recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing pictures from his visit to Sweden and reflecting on the childhood memories that cold weather and peaceful surroundings bring back.
The ‘Special 26’ actor said he has discovered that cold destinations have a calming and rejuvenating effect on him. Spending time beside a lake, surrounded by silence and solitude, helps him reconnect with himself and find inner peace.
Sharing his thoughts in an Instagram post, Kher recalled the winters of his childhood in Shimla, when the hill town was quieter and life seemed to move at a much slower pace.
He observed that while summer encourages people to step out and explore the world, winter offers an opportunity for introspection and turning inward. He described spending his Sunday by the water in Sweden, enjoying the cold weather and reminiscing about his early years in Shimla.
Born and raised in Shimla, the 71-year-old actor has often spoken about his emotional connection with the hill town and the lasting influence of his childhood experiences.
Earlier in October, Kher had also shared his thoughts on the restorative power of nature and silence. In another Instagram post, he spoke about how spending time in peaceful natural surroundings helps him gain clarity, reconnect with himself and rejuvenate his mind and spirit.
Drawing on his roots in Shimla and Kashmir, the actor said that nature often takes him back to cherished childhood memories and encourages deeper introspection.
He had written that self-awareness begins with introspection and finding inner silence. According to him, nature has the ability to heal, awaken and inspire people, even when they do not realise they need such rejuvenation.
Through his recent reflections, Kher once again highlighted how a connection with nature, solitude and childhood memories can offer a sense of calm amid the demands of everyday life.
