SC to hear CBI’s plea to cancel Lalu Yadav’s bail on August 25

Ranchi: The Supreme Court has agreed to list the CBI’s plea challenging the bail granted to RJD President Lalu Yadav, convicted in the fodder scam, by the Jharkhand High Court.

The CBI had sought immediate listing of its petition before the Supreme Court to cancel Lalu Yadav’s bail.

The High Court granted him bail on the ground of completing half the sentence.

Lalu Yadav is guilty in four scams related to the fraudulent withdrawal of money from Deoghar, Dumka and Chaibasa treasury.

In 2019, he got bail in the Deoghar treasury case.

He was convicted in two cases of fraudulent withdrawal from the Chaibasa treasury.

In the Chaibasa treasury case too, on October 9, 2020, Lalu was granted bail by the High Court on the grounds that he had served half the sentence.
