Chennai: Actress Samyuktha Viswanathan, who plays one of the female leads in director Aswin Kandasamy’s upcoming romantic fantasy drama Double Occupancy, has shared an emotional note about achieving a major milestone in her acting career.
Taking to Instagram, Samyuktha expressed her happiness at finally being introduced as the lead heroine of a full-length feature film after years of perseverance and hard work.
“After a lot of time, patience, struggle, passion and hard work, I can finally say I’m being introduced in a full feature film as a lead, as a heroine. Little Samyuktha would be proud, and I hope you are too,” she wrote.
Reflecting on her journey, the actress thanked those who have supported her over the years. She described the road to this achievement as challenging yet fulfilling, marked by constant learning, patience, hope and faith.
Seeking blessings from her fans and well-wishers, she concluded her note by saying that there are many people she wishes to thank and that their love, prayers and support mean a great deal to her.
Set to release on June 12, Double Occupancy stars Santhosh, Reshma Venkatesh, Samyuktha Viswanathan and Vinoth Kishan in key roles. The film is being produced by Avni Cinemax in association with Benzz Media.
According to the makers, the film combines romance and fantasy while exploring themes such as identity, duality, science versus faith, and the emotional complexities of love. The story is expected to offer a fresh take on mainstream Tamil cinema through its imaginative premise and emotionally driven narrative.
In the film, Samyuktha is paired opposite Santhosh, with her character providing both emotional depth and warmth to the story’s fantastical elements.
The cast also includes VTV Ganesh and Bagavathi Perumal.
The project marks the directorial debut of Aswin Kandasamy, who has previously worked with several leading production houses. On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Santhakumar Chakravarthy, while music has been composed by Sam C. S.. Editing is by Praveen Antony, production design by Senthil Raghavan, and costumes by Sruthi R. Kannan.
For Samyuktha, Double Occupancy represents more than just another film release—it marks the realization of a long-cherished dream and a significant step forward in her career as a leading actress.
