Ranchi: A Special Area Committee Member of the CPI Maoists who was carrying a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head surrendered before the senior officials of the Jharkhand Police and CRPF.
SAC member Vimal Yadav alias Radheshyam Yadav alias Umesh Yadav who originally hails from the Jehanabad district of the neighboring state of Bihar surrendered in a function organized at the office of IG Ranchi Zone. There are a total of 25 cases registered against the Maoists in separate police stations of Jharkhand and Bihar.
Speaking on the occasion IG Operations of Jharkhand Police Amol V Homkar that surrender of a high-rank commander of the CPI Maoists is a big achievement for the police and paramilitary forces involved in anti-insurgency operations in the state. He said that the Maoists have diverted from their path and have turned themselves into an organization for levy collection.
