Changes made in policies to make benefits of development available to all: Governor

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais enumerated the achievements of the state government during his 40-minute address on the first day of the budget session of the assembly on Friday. The Governor said that the government has so far transferred an amount of Rs 836 crore 57 lakhs to the accounts of more than 2 lakh farmers under the farm loan waiver scheme. For the first time in Jharkhand, seed distribution through seed tokens was started in 2021. The Governor said that the government is of the clear opinion that mutual discussion and debate make democracy more powerful. Any kind of violence in the name of protest weakens the society and the country therefore it should be avoided.

He said that the government is committed to the all-around development of the state, the government is making every effort for providing a clean, sensitive, transparent and accountable administration. He said that Necessary changes have been brought in the policies by the government for the establishment of peace in the state, the development of industries and the people of the state. He said that wherever required, formulation of new policies and necessary amendments in rules and regulations are also being done by the government. Governor Bais said that keeping in mind the interest of the farmers, there is a provision to pay 50 percent price of paddy procured from the farmers within 48 hours as in the previous year.

Integrated Birsa Gram Vikas Yojana cum Krishna Pathshala has been implemented at a cost of Rs 61 crores. Recognizing the importance of animal husbandry, Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Vikas Yojana was started. Drinking water is the basic need of human life, against the target of ensuring water supply through the tap to 59 lakh 23 thousand rural households by the year 2024, so far this facility has been provided to more than 10 lakh 90 thousand households.

The Governor said that from this year, Mukhyamantri Protsahan Yojana has been started for unemployed-studying youth and women of the state. Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme has been implemented, Dhoti-Saree and Lungi were distributed under Sona Sobran Dhoti- Sari Distribution Scheme while new tourism policy 2021 has been implemented. He said that to promote tourism in the state, a plan has been started for the construction of helipad-cum- reception buildings at 7 tourist places. Under which the construction work has been completed in Maluti and Basukinath.

Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Foreign Scholarship Scheme has been implemented to provide world-class education to tribal youth while under the Phulo-Jhano Ashirwad Yojana, 24 thousand women have been linked with various means of livelihood by freeing them from the work of manufacturing and selling liquor. The products being manufactured by rural women are being marketed and promoted under the brand Palash. He said that the UDAN project has been started to connect the primitive tribal families with the mainstream.

The Governor informed that Sarvajan Pension Yojana has been implemented,  under which the scope of eligibility to receive pension has been greatly expanded. He said that education is the basis of development, so the government has taken a special initiative in the field of education. Under this, work is being done to develop 80 excellent schools, 325 block-level leader schools and 4091 village panchayat level model schools by the state government.

He said that necessary action is being taken to implement the Jharkhand State Journalist Health Insurance Scheme 2021 to give the benefit of the health insurance scheme to the journalists of the state. The Governor said that efforts are being made to bring the youth of the State who have got lost under the influence of Left Wing Extremism in the mainstream of the society so that they can lead a normal life and contribute in the development of the State.

The pace of development is being accelerated in the areas which have been freed from the clutches of extremism so that the extremism does not spread again, the areas which are still affected by Left Wing Extremism, those areas are being promoted development. He said that the government is adamant to free it from the effects of Left Wing Extremism through this medium. He highlighted that work of Tribal University is being also taken forward.
