Rs 300 crore found from the hideouts of Jharkhand Congress MP

Ranchi: Cash worth more than Rs 300 crore has been recovered from the hideouts of Congress MP from Jharkhand Dheeraj Sahu and his close associates. These locations include 10 locations in Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal, where the Income Tax Department is investigating. According to Income Tax officials, this is the largest amount ever recovered in a single operation.

In the tax evasion case, raids were started on Dheeraj’s house, office and factory on December 6. The officers investigating in Ranchi for the last 3 days are filling their stomachs by eating bread and bananas. Investigating officers have found three bags from this house. Vehicles from Odisha are also present.

The Income Tax Department has so far received Rs 300 crore in cash from locations located in Titlagarh, Bolangir and Sambalpur in Odisha. From Saturday 8th December, 40 big and small machines have been installed to count the notes. Counting of notes is still going on.

Income Tax Department sources said the cash is so much that it will take two more days to count it. Only after this can information on this be given officially. The Income Tax Department started the raid on Wednesday 6 December. Till December 7, 30 shelves full of currency notes were found in the office of liquor manufacturing company Baldev Sahu and Group of Companies. Of these, bundles of 500, 200 and 100 rupee notes were kept in 9 of them. Many bags filled with notes were also found.

However, the IT team did not provide information about how much cash was in the shelves. The lockers are yet to be opened. By Thursday evening, cash worth Rs 260 crore had been received. After this this amount kept
increasing.

After this, on Friday, the Income Tax Department recovered Rs 8 crore from the house of Sanjay Sahu and Deepak Sahu, who handle liquor business in Titlagarh, Odisha. A huge amount of money was also seized from the premises of rice miller and transporter Rajkishore Jaiswal.

A raid was conducted late evening on Friday at Rice Mill and Boudh Distillery Private Limited in Boudh district of Odisha. There is news of cash being found from here also.
