Jharkhand deposited Rs 34595 crore in post office related schemes – Sanjay Seth

Ranchi/New Delhi: In the case of financial fraud in Dhruwa post office, the main culprit is an agent of NAS, who was appointed by the state government.

A FIR has also been registered in this case.

Along with this, the Postal Department has suspended four departmental employees in this matter.

The Postal Department has made a system to investigate such public complaints and claims, where action is taken on receiving the complaint.

The above information was given by Union Minister of State for Communications Debu Singh Chauhan in reply to the question of MP Sanjay Seth in the Lok Sabha.

MP Seth had raised in the Lok Sabha the issue related to the accounts opened by the post office in Jharkhand, the amount deposited in the schemes and the financial irregularities taking place in the post office.

In his reply, the Union Minister said that people have shown great interest in opening accounts and depositing funds under various schemes in Jharkhand.

Better operations have also been done in Jharkhand regarding various schemes.

The Union Minister has also provided district wise details of the state regarding the schemes being operated through the Postal Department.

Under which, 240781 accounts have been opened in Ranchi under Kisan Vikas Patra, 32629 under Monthly Income Scheme, 2779 under Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, 279828 under National Savings Certificate, 750 under National Savings Scheme and 11846 accounts under Public Provident Fund.

Apart from this, 335438 accounts have been opened in Ranchi district under recurring deposit, 8116 accounts under Senior Citizen Savings Scheme, 155480 accounts under Post Office Savings Account, 69352 accounts under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, 72764 accounts under fixed deposit.

The Union Minister said that the people of Jharkhand have deposited Rs 34595 crore in the post office under these various schemes.

The funds of the schemes have been deposited by the common people in the post offices of Jharkhand; In this, 9241 crores in Kisan Vikas Patra, 5711 crores in Monthly Income Scheme, 105 crores in Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, 4860 crores in National Savings Certificate, 28 crores in National Savings Scheme, 1838 crores in Public Provident Fund, 4458 crores in Recurring Deposit, Rs 3710 crore has been deposited in Post Office Savings Account, Rs 2540 crore in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Rs 2104 crore in Senior Citizen Savings Scheme and Rs 5040 crore in fixed deposits.

After this reply, MP Sanjay Seth said that the confidence of the general public towards the arrangements of the Modi government has increased.

This is the reason why only in Jharkhand, people opened accounts in the post office on such a large scale and also deposited money in it.

The Government of India has also made provision for action in case of financial fraud or irregularities, but it is also necessary that the general public also remains aware.
