Relief to Rahul Gandhi on Modi surname remark, Jharkhand HC exempts from physical presence

Ranchi: Jharkhand High Court has given big relief to Rahul Gandhi. The decision of the lower court has been overturned by the Jharkhand High Court. Now Rahul Gandhi will not have to physically appear in the court. The High Court has stayed the order of the lower court and has also stayed the pest action.

A petition was filed in the Jharkhand High Court by the MP-MLA court challenging the order of Congress national leader Rahul Gandhi to be physically present, on which a hearing was held. Now the next hearing in this matter will be on August 16. On Tuesday, the court of Judge Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi gave a big relief to Rahul Gandhi by staying the order of the lower court after the hearing.

There is also a stay on any coercive action against Rahul Gandhi. On behalf of Rahul Gandhi, High Court advocates Piyush Chitresh and Dipankar Roy have presented their side. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi had made such a comment ‘Modi naam wale sabhi chor hote hain’ in the election meeting held at Morhabadi, Ranchi. The hearing was held on June 16 in the court of MPMLA Special Judge Anamika Kisku. Then Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer had asked the court for 15 days’ time.

After this, the court had fixed the date of July 4 for the next hearing. This matter is related with 2019 case. During this, while campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections at Ranchi’s Morhabadi Maidan, Rahul Gandhi, referring to Narendra Modi, Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi, had said that ‘all Modi surname wale chor hain’.
