Ranchi: Emotions ran high across Ranchi district today as people gathered to pay tribute to former Chief Minister and legendary Jharkhand movement leader, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. From government offices to remote villages, floral tributes were offered and solemn meetings held to remember his enduring contributions to the state.
In every corner of the district, people reflected on Soren’s legacy. A particularly strong presence was seen among women associated with the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS). Members from all 64 clusters and hundreds of self-help groups (SHGs) organized heartfelt tribute gatherings, remembering Soren as not just a political leader but the voice of the poor and tribal communities.
Women participating in the programs said Shibu Soren was the soul and spirit of Jharkhand. His life, they said, was a story of sacrifice and relentless struggle for the rights of the people over their water, forests, and land. “He was not just a leader, but our guiding light,” one SHG member said, adding that his simplicity and lifelong dedication to the people made him beloved across the state.
His thoughts echoed across village assemblies, where residents described him as the embodiment of Jharkhand’s dreams. One woman said, “His ideals and dreams will forever live in our hearts. He is truly the soul of Jharkhand.”
At the end of the memorials, people offered flowers and pledged to follow in his footsteps. All agreed that Shibu Soren’s contributions would remain etched in Jharkhand’s history in golden letters.
