Ranchi MLA CP Singh receives explicit call on phone, registers complaint

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Assembly Speaker and Ranchi MLA CP Singh on Tuesday said that he has become scared of picking up calls.

Addressing a press conference here the Ranchi MLA said that around 1 AM in the night, he got an anonymous video call and as it is his habit to pick up calls no matter any given point they come he picked up the call. But unfortunately, he got to listen to an explicit voice of the woman which he immediately cut off and after putting his mobile in mute mode he went to sleep.

He said that people are aware of the fact that CP Singh picks up calls on his mobile 24 hours and if he manages to miss them then he makes a point of calling them back. He said that even his close workers have asked him not to pick up calls from unknown numbers.

The MLA narrated how he had fallen victim to a similar incident in New Delhi where he got several calls claiming that he had been called at Prime Minister’s residence and when he went there he found that no such call was made.

Later he also registered an FIR in this case at the Vasant Vihar police station. CP Singh said that he has registered an FIR in this connection at Lalpur Police Station and has also sent the same to the Ranchi SSP.

He demanded the police administration do a concrete probe and come out with the result. The MLA claimed that a racket of such cyber criminals was working in the state which was trying to blackmail and extort money from the people.
