Ramgarh DC Reviews Water Supply, Health Preparedness Amid Rising Heat

Ramgarh: In view of the intense summer conditions, a crucial review meeting was held on Wednesday via video conferencing under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rituraj to ensure proper arrangements for drinking water supply and healthcare services across the district.

During the meeting, the DC assessed the current status of water supply by interacting with officials from the Drinking Water and Sanitation Division and Block Development Officers. He stressed that ensuring regular and uninterrupted water supply to every household must remain the top priority. Officials were directed to coordinate with public representatives and local residents by holding meetings at the block level to address water-related concerns effectively.

The DC also instructed the district public relations office to widely publicize the district control room and its contact numbers so that citizens can easily report their issues. He emphasized prompt and efficient redressal of complaints received through the control room.

Reviewing ongoing water supply schemes in both urban and rural areas, the DC directed officials to ensure their smooth operation. He also ordered that non-functional schemes be repaired on a priority basis and restored in a planned manner.

Officials informed that repair work on defunct hand pumps is being carried out daily across the district. Since April 1, a total of 3,667 hand pumps have been repaired. While acknowledging the progress, the DC called for further acceleration to achieve complete coverage.

Considering the rising heatwave conditions, the DC directed the Civil Surgeon to launch extensive awareness campaigns on heatstroke prevention. He also instructed that all hospitals, including Sadar Hospital and community health centres, must maintain adequate stocks of ORS solutions, essential medicines, and other necessary resources.

The Deputy Commissioner further sought suggestions from officials on additional measures to provide relief to the public during the summer. He made it clear that any negligence in water supply or healthcare services will not be tolerated, and all departments must work in close coordination to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience.
