Mumbai: Actress Rakul Preet Singh has expressed gratitude after her 2017 Telugu film Jaya Janaki Nayaka emerged as the most-watched Indian film on YouTube.
Sharing her reaction on social media, Rakul said the character of Janaki holds a special place in her career and will always remain close to her heart. She thanked audiences for the overwhelming response and for helping the film reach the milestone.
“Some characters stay with you forever, and Janaki will always be one of them. Thank you for all the love you’ve shown and for making Jaya Janaki Nayaka the highest-watched Indian film on YouTube ever. This is a special feat,” she wrote.
She also expressed appreciation for director Boyapati Srinu and the entire team behind the film, calling it an unforgettable journey.
Directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under Dwaraka Creations, the film stars Bellamkonda Sreenivas alongside Rakul Preet Singh, with Jagapathi Babu, Pragya Jaiswal, Tarun Arora, Sarath Kumar, and others in key roles. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Rishi Punjabi and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
Jaya Janaki Nayaka was originally released in theatres on August 11, 2017.
On the work front, Rakul Preet Singh is set to play Surpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming mythological film Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
The project is being produced by Prime Focus Studios and DNEG in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
