Ranchi: About a year ago, Lohardaga station was made ready for the Rajdhani Express and since then it was being demanded that the train should be run through the Lohardaga-Tori route.
Now the Ranchi-Delhi Rajdhani Express will travel to New Delhi via Lohardaga-Tori from November 11. Rajdhani train from Ranchi to Delhi will no longer have to go to Muri-Barkakana to reach Tori. This will save 3 hours of travel time to Delhi.
The train will reach Tori directly from Ranchi via Lohardaga. At present, the train takes about 4 hours to reach Tori, but when this train goes via Lohardaga, it will reach Tori station in 2 hours. A notification in this regard has been issued by the Railway Board on Tuesday.
There was a demand for this about a year ago and Lohardaga station was made ready for the capital. Since then it was being demanded that the capital should be run through the Lohardaga-Tori route. But it was being postponed due to different reasons. A month ago, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and demanded this. The decision of the railway board has been welcomed by various organizations.
