Raghubar urges for a Railway zonal office in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Aug 17: Union Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated via video
conferencing from New Delhi three railway projects in the state and
also dedicated a railway line to the people.

The projects which were inaugurated included the ambitious doubling
of the Hatia-Bandamunda railway line (159 kilometers), Adityapur-
Kharagpur third railway line, Chakardharpur- Goielkera third railway
line (34 kilometers)  and dedicated to the people Adityapur-Gamharia
third line.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Prabhu said that these projects are
being started with the investment of Rs 3,425 crore  and the railways
was investing Rs 20,083 crore in the state while projects worth Rs
40,000 crore are on in the state. He said rapid wok has been done in
the area of electrification of the railway lines. He said that
Jharkhand needed investment in Railways since long.

He said that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed charge the
railways was working on the mantra of ‘ Desh Badhr Rail Badhe’. He
said that it was his effort to make sure that the eastern region of
the country are also part of the development process and today all of
them have gathered to take a further step in that direction.
The railways minister said that Jharkhand was a state which had
itself come forward and made joint initiative in the railway projects
and where ever needed the railways and the Jharkhand Government would
also work on PPP mode.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das who was present at the Hatia Railway
Station on the occasion said that the Prime Minister has focussed more
on connectivity in the country. He also demanded that a zonal office
of the railways be set up in the state and said that it is difficult
to get the people from Kolkata or Hajipur for the railway projects. He
said that the state needed railway over bridges and demanded that the
Ranchi-Jianagar train be restarted by the railways.
