Khunti, Nov 29: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated the newly built smart terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd in Angada of this district and also flagged off an oil tanker from the spot.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Das that it was the thought of the Prime Minister that connectivity should be established with people whether through pipelines, roads or through gas transportation. He said that earlier the oil use to come through train and was stored in Namkum but now it would come straight from pipelines to Khntu and Deoghar and would be distributed across the state.
He said that Khunti was the land of Bhagwan Birsa Munda who was born in a very poor family but worked to strengthen the Mundari culture and tradition of the state. He said that in just 20 years of age Birsa Munda was a great patriot who never bowed down before the Britishers. Mr Das said that despite 70 years of Independence Khunti was among the backward districts of the state however after coming to power his government worked as per the road map for the development in healthcare, education, employment and drinking water.
He said that there was a need to work with a vision. He said that during the last many years many buildings were built in the state but were of no use. Mr Das said that Birsa Munda fought to preserve the culture of the state which resides in the villages and asked the people to imbibe the teaching of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and said that those who would indulge in wrong acts would be sent to jail.
