Raghubar chairs Siddhi Baat: Orders CID probe into gang rape of minor in Jamshedpur

Ranchi, Jul 31: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das ordered for a CID probe into the gang rape and black mailing of a minor from Jamshedpur.

During the Siddhi Baat programme held at the Suchana Bhawan here the victim narrated her suffering to the Chief Minister and named a total of five men including MGM police station officer incharge Imdad Ansari and DSP Ajay Kareketta for raping her. When asked the Jamshedpur SSP said that three accused Inderpal Saini, Shivkumar Mahto and Srikant have been arrested in the case while the role of the police officials was being probed.

The Chief Minister assured the girl that justice will be provided to her and ordered that the probe be handed over to the CID. A total of 18 complaints were reviewed by him during the programme in which he issued necessary instructions to the concerned departments and district officials and asked for immediate action.

During the programme the Chief Minister asked the DCs of the various districts that he was receiving numerous complaints from people pointing problems in getting their case, income and residential certificates made and asked the officials to make sure that the people are not made to run. He also asked the DCs to speed up addressal of complaints related to old age, widow and divyang pension.

Mr Das ordered that in villages which have more than 50 pc tribal population there tribal development committee should be formed and every month meeting should be held with the villagers to speed up development works. He also asked the DCs to make sure that Janta Darbars are organized every month in blocks and panchayats of the districts.
