Ranchi: A state-level conference on the prevention of harassment of women and prostitution was held at the Judicial Academy in Ranchi on Sunday. In which Chief Guest was Chief Justice Jharkhand, Sanjay Kumar Mishra. Apart from these, Jharkhand High Court Justice Chandrashekhar, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, Justice Rogan Mukhopadhyay, former Gujarat High Court Justice Sonia Kogani, advocates and policemen were present.
The program started with the release of a book related to awareness on women’s oppression. After this, judges from other provinces including Jharkhand presented lectures on the prevention of harassment of women. Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra said in his address that prostitution and women harassment is a sensitive subjects for Jharkhand. Often this incident is done by the closeness of the victim. After the incident, the biggest responsibility is to punish the accused. In which police advocate and judges play an important role.
He said that prostitution is a curse for Jharkhand. It needs to be reduced and it will happen only through awareness. At the same time, Justice SK Dwivedi said that the number of such cases is more in Jharkhand. There are many reasons for this. Awareness and quick justice is the only way to avoid it. At the same time, advocate Dheeraj Kumar said that there should be a workshop on such a subject.
