Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto and Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Manjhi jointly inaugurated the Library and Study Center at Jamiatul Erakin Bhawan, Bahu Bazar Road, Ranchi on Sunday. This library and study centre has been opened by Jamiatul Erakin organization to provide library facilities to the students.
A program was organized on this occasion. Schoolgirls sang welcome songs in honour of the guests. The program was presided over by Haseeb Akhtar, retired DDC cum president of the institution.
The chief guest of the program Rabindra Nath Mahato while addressing the gathering said that the establishment of the library is a good omen for society. We make places of worship, the establishment of a library is a big place of worship. We cannot take other’s wealth and prestige but we can get knowledge from others.
Addressing the students, he said that by dedicating yourself to the library, the library will give you a destination that you cannot even imagine. He said that this is a big initiative of the organization. Library is like a reward for talents in the society and the study centre is a great initiative to collect scattered talents. Books enrich life. He also shared this initiative in detail with the people in the program on how to convert the unused government buildings into libraries in each panchayat of his area Nala.
Rajya Sabha member Mahua Majhi said that “The Library established by Jamiatul Erakin is a great initiative, I am fortunate to have got a chance to participate in such a pious event.” There is a lot of slum population around it where the establishment of the library shows great thinking. This is a revolutionary step and I hope that the co-ordinator of Mahi, Ibrar Ahmed, Mohd Gyashuddin alias Munna Bhai will continue to get support and this library will continue to flourish. I am happy that books of all competitions are also available in this library.
Saiful Haque, General Secretary, Jamiatul Erakin Committee, in his welcome speech, said that this is one of the oldest schools in entire Ranchi and Jamiat has played a very positive role in society and is involved in every social work. Jamiatul Erakin was established in 1938 AD and it is the old panchayat of the city and the library was also established first. In his presidential speech, Haseeb Akhtar said that there are a large number of students in our society who do not have a place to study at home, for this purpose a library was established. So that such children are benefited. The committee is preparing to open this library round the clock.
The next program of the Committee is to set up a computer centre to promote computer learning in the region. Haseeb Akhtar thanked Ibrar Ahmed of Mahi, Serajuddin of Sadaf Public School, Safwan Alam alias Zeeshan, Director of Shan Boys Hostel, Anwar Alam, Serv India Group and Zafar Naeem for donating books for the library.
