Under the auspices of Union Club and Library, a dance drama was organized on the auspicious occasion of Rabindra Jayanti today, 9.5.2023 at 7:00 pm in the courtyard behind Plaza Hall. The program started with garlanding and offering flowers on the portrait of Gurudev Shri Ravindra Nath.
Co-chairmen Mr. Gautam Bhattacharya and Dr. Swarat Chowdhary, Secretary Setank Sen, Praveer Lahiri and others were present in wreath-laying and Pushparg. Secretary Setank Sen did the welcome speech. Dr. Mahua Majhi was present as a special speaker.
After this, the dance drama *Shyama* composed by Rabindra Nath was successfully staged. Music direction in this dance drama Shyama was done by Pranati Lahiri and Paromita Chowdhary. Choreography was done by Mr. Vipul Nayak. The entire dance drama was directed by Mr. Praveer Lahiri.
The contribution of Paromita Chowdhary, Dr. Ujjwal Rai, Suvir Lahiri, Subhdeep Sarkar Krisht Pal, Chaitali Sarkar, Paromita Bhattacharya, Ruma Chatterjee, Moushumi Bhattacharya, Prabha De, Saini Bose in music was remarkable.
Trisha Tania, Surajit Josh, Mohan along with Sangeeta Verma Tonni, Ayushi Saloni, Sushmita, Sylvia entertained the audience in the dance.
Saurabh Dev on synthesizer, Uttam Ghosh on tabla, Shantanu Majumdar on guitar and Topu Das on Octopad kept the evening musical.
