Ranchi: Incharge of Congress party Affairs in-charge Avinash Pandey reached Ranchi on a two-day tour on Wednesday to take stock of the changing political situation in Jharkhand. Talking to reporters he said that the membership drive of Congress in Jharkhand has been very good as the top leaders of the party and the workers have all done a good job.
However, he said that there is a need to put more emphasis on organization strength. He said that after meeting with the representatives of the district, block and panchayat, the further strategy would be decided on strengthening the organization while the membership drive will continue in the state. Many Congress workers including Minister Banna Gupta and state president Rajesh Thakur were present to welcome him at the Birsa Munda airport.
Pandey said that it is the endeavor of the party to establish a dialogue with the booth-level workers and know their problems. On the matter of clarification sought by the Election Commission on the lease mines case from Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he said that the law is doing its work and he has nothing to say on this. However, he said that there is no threat to the coalition government.
Pandey said that BJP wants to destabilize the democratically formed government in non-BJP ruled states. In Jharkhand too, the people of BJP are spreading confusion among the public by doing misleading propaganda in the media but this attempt of BJP will prove to be unsuccessful as here is no threat to the coalition government as the Congress is with the coalition government.
