Neeraj Singh Murder: Police identifies man who hired killers, two more taken into custody

Dhanbad, Mar 26: In a major break through for the police and the CID
which is investigating the murder of Congress leader and former deputy
mayor of Dhanbad Neeraj Singh the name of the person who hired the
killers to execute the incident has been identified.
CID ADG Ajay Kumar Singh said that the name is not being revealed as
it may hamper the investigation. However he did say that two others
identified as Chunu Patel and Dhanji Singh both residents of Jharia
have been taken into custody are being interrogated over their
involvement in the case. Both of them are also linked with Janta
Mazdoor Sangh. The ADG said that police teams are conducting raids in
Hazaribagh, Siwan and Ballia while Gaya Singh and Mahant Pandey are
also being questioned.
However with six days gone itno this hi-profile murder case the
Dhanbad Police has yet to come out with any concrete results. The
people are pointing fingers towards failure of the machineray of the
security agencies as the alleged killers not only stayed in Kusum
Vihar for a month and kept a tab on the activities and movement of
Neeraj Singh but were also able to carry out the murder with full
proof planning and precision. Some people said that gang war has one
again made its way back into the ‘black diamond city’.
The district police has meanwhile prepared the sketch of the alleged
killers and is probing the links with the killing to neighbouring
states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Locals involved in the business of coal have also pointed out that
were any similarities in the manner in which Ranjay Singh, a close
confidant of Jharia MLA Sanjeev Singh and Neeraj Singh were killed.
They said that while Ranjay was killed near ‘Raghukul, Neeraj Singh
and three others were shot dead near ‘Singh Mansion’. They said that
there was third party involved in the incident who was trying to take
advantage of the rivalry between the two families and establish his
own supremacy over the outsourcing business of the coal sector in
Dhanbad.
Police sources meanwhile said that without the support of the insider
such an incident was not possible to execute. Police is also looking
to probe a person identified as Munna on whose recommendation the
deputy director of CIMFER had handed over his vacant house for rent to
the four people who are being suspected of being carrying out the
incident.
The team of the district police and the CID is working for long hours
to crack the case. A team of the SIT has already set up its base at
Jharia as it is suspecting that the link of the murder is related from
Jharia itself as without local input the murder could not have been
carried out.
