NCPCR criticises Dumka district administration for not cooperating with visiting team

Dumka: The chairperson of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Priyank Kanoongo criticized the Hemant Soren government for not supporting the team he led to visit Dumka to take stock of the dual murder of minor girls that had taken place in the recent past.

Expressing surprise over the absence of the parents of one of the victim girls from their home in Raneshwar police station area on Tuesday, Kanoongo said they were allegedly taken to some place in a vehicle prior to the arrival of the team. This is despite the fact that the state government was suitably communicated about the visit of the NCPCR team pertaining to the murder of two minor girls,
Kanoongo told to reporters.

Before leaving for New Delhi, he added that the district collector (DC) had even given his consent to making suitable arrangements for the visit of the NCPCR team intending to interact with the victim’s families besides administrative stakeholders.
