Naxalite involved in the killing of 48 police personnel, carrying a reward of Rs 15 lakh, surrenders

Chatra: Naveen Yadav, who was involved in the killing of 48 Naxalite police and security forces personnel in Jharkhand-Bihar and was among the top commanders of the banned Naxalite organization CPI Maoist, surrendered on Wednesday.

He surrendered before DC Abu Imran, SP Rakesh of Chatra district of Jharkhand. He was wanted in 72 cases including murder, arson, robbery, and possession of illegal weapons.

There are 16 cases registered against him in Chatra of Jharkhand, 16 in Latehar, 7 in Garhwa, 2 in Palamu, 6 in Gaya of Bihar and 4 in Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh. As per the government policy, he was welcomed into the mainstream by giving bouquets. He will be shifted to Hazaribagh open jail.
