Ranchi: A naxal supporter, who was active in Chaibasa, has been taken into 4-day remand by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA team is currently questioning Jaypal Devgam, a resident of Sarjamburu in the Tonto police station area, which is severely affected by Naxal activities.
It is noteworthy that under the direction of Chaibasa SP Ashutosh Shekhar, a police team had arrested Rajesh Devgam and Jaypal Devgam on March 24, 2024. The two are biological brothers.
In their confession, they revealed that top Naxals had previously hidden levy money in the forested and hilly areas around the villages of Jimki Ikir and Rajabasa, located under the Tonto police station.
During a special operation, the police had recovered ₹10,50,000 in cash along with other daily-use items from this location. The NIA is now questioning Jaypal Devgam in connection with this case.
