NAFED is selling onion at Rs 25 per kg in Ranchi

Ranchi: The price of onion in the capital Ranchi market is skyrocketing these days.

Onions are being sold at Rs 60 to 70 per kg in Morhabadi, Lalpur, Ratu Road Khatal and Khadgarha Mandi of Ranchi.

Efforts are being made at the central government level to ensure that people get onions easily and at low prices.

Even in the capital Ranchi, onions are being given to common people at low prices.

People are being given onion at Rs 25 per kg.

Onion is being sold by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED), an organization of the Government of India.

One such vehicle from NAFED was selling onions near Ikisso Mahadev Dham in Chutiya.

There were about three tonnes of onion in this vehicle.

Which was made in the form of packets of two kilos each.

In the poster that was put up in the vehicle loaded with onions, it was written that onions would be given at Rs 25 per kg.

People were buying onions from here.

A person standing near a vehicle selling onions to people was selling onions, claiming himself to be a worker of the BJP State Working Committee.

He said the central government organization NAFED is selling onions.

We were told to sell onions in the right manner.

In such a situation, we are standing here with the vehicle as part of social work.

In this regard, we spoke to NAFED State Head Ranjay Kumar.

He said that two kilos of onion has to be given per person.

Two carts are selling onions in Ranchi.

We have to go to every area and give onions to the people at Rs 25 per kg.

Only two kilos of onion is being given to a person.

Any person can buy the vehicle by paying money from wherever it is parked.

No document will be required to buy onion.

While according to the rules a person was to be given two kilos of onion, at this place a person was taking four to five packets.

On the question of presence of BJP workers, NAFED State Head Ranjay Kumar said that we are a government organization.

He said that onions are being brought from Nashik in Maharashtra and sold.

We are selling onions both wholesale and retail.

When BJP spokesperson Pradeep Sinha was asked about this, he first expressed ignorance.

Then he said that it is important that people get relief.

The central organization is working.

The party has not asked any worker to sell onions.
