Ranchi: Mandar witnessed an enthusiastic finale to the one-day women’s football tournament organized under MP Sports Festival 2025, initiated by Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash from Lohardaga Lok Sabha constituency. Held at Sosai Ashram Ground, the event drew an impressive crowd of around 5,000 to 6,000 spectators, highlighting strong community engagement and widespread popularity.
Eight women’s football teams from the region competed in the tournament, which aimed to promote sports and empower women in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deepak Prakash emphasized that such events provide a platform for rural sports talent, guide youth in a positive direction, and strengthen sports culture across communities.
The event saw participation from prominent figures including Sunny Toppo, Ramesh Singh, Amit Singh, Rahul Awasthi, Gangu Pahan, Sangeeta Devi, along with local representatives, panchayat leaders, and BJP officials. Successfully reflecting the spirit of the Khelo India initiative, the festival emerged as an inspiring and exemplary step toward rural sports development and women’s empowerment.
