Ranchi: Passengers on Ranchi-Godda passenger train number 18619 faced severe inconvenience on platform number 2 last night. A large crowd had gathered well before the train’s arrival, but the doors of all coaches, including general compartments, remained closed for a long time after the train reached the platform.
Witnesses said that despite arriving early, passengers had to wait as doors remained shut. Only 5 to 10 minutes before the train’s departure, after the engine horn sounded, were the doors finally opened. Once opened, passengers rushed in, creating a chaotic scene on the platform.
The incident occurred around 9:09 pm. Though no fights or physical altercations were reported, passengers said timely opening of coach doors could have prevented overcrowding and ensured a smoother boarding experience.
