Ranchi: The speed of Corona testing will be increased in Jharkhand as the government has inked an MoU in this regard with a Delhi based firm.
From the first week of June in 12 districts of the state, the company through its mobile testing van will commence the tests which will be done by the RTPCR machine. Incharge of testing Naman Priyesh Lakra said that as per the agreement the company will have to give the report in 24-48 hours.
He said that at present in 8 government RTPCR labs and four private labs sample collection is on while the process was on to set up RTPCR machines in 7 other districts.
Lakra said that at present it takes more than 48 hours for the RTPCR report to come out and as per the agreement it has to be completed within 24 hours. He said that since the company has lack of manpower therefore it will be the responsibility of the state government to collect the sample and the company will be able to perform the test.
He said that the districts have been selected on the basis of the positivity rate and population of the districts and in the future changes will be made. The 12 districts where the facility will initially commence included Ranchi, Dhanbad Garhwa, Gumla, Simdega, East Singhbhum, Bokaro, Deoghar, Latehar, Sahebganj, Jamtata and Pakur.
He said that earlier the pendency of Covid samples was more and there was a time when the pending samples were more than 25,000 but now they are at present just a little above 14,000.
