Misuse of land belonging to farmers will not be allowed: Rameshwar Oraon

Lohardaga: Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon on Monday said that the government will not allow any misuse of land belonging to the farmers and ‘rayats’.

Addressing a function organised at the Town Hall here he said the government is ready to buy the produce of the farmers on right prices. Be said that markets will be also provided to the farmers for their produce and asked the farmers to sell the paddy at government procurement centres where they will be paid Rs 2050 for per quintal of paddy.

He said that opposition is attacking the state government over procurement of paddy but under the previous government money was paid after one year but at present on part of the payment is given at the time of selling the paddy while remaining is paid within three-four months.

Dr Oraon said that farmers are sitting on agitation against the Agriculture laws but the centre was not willing to listen to them but as far as farmers of Jharkhand are concerned no attack will be allowed on their rights.

Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu lauded the steps which have been taken by the state government for betterment of the farmers. He said that politics being done by leaders of BJP over paddy procurement was unfortunate.
