High level panel to probe child’s death due to snakebite in school – Nancy Sahay

Ranchi: Hazaribagh DC Nancy Sahay has taken serious note of the alleged negligence of the teachers of Lakwar Government Upgraded Primary School under Dagpur Panchayat of Chauparan block. A student died of snakebite in the school in Hazaribagh.

Sahay said the negligence of Rakhi Singh and Mohammad Shalish, who are teachers, is clearly visible. It is noteworthy that Shishu Bhuiyan, the eight-year-old son of Bhubaneswar Bhuiyan, died of snakebite while in school. It is said that the teachers sent him home after dressing him.

After reaching home, the boy fainted, after which he was taken to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, where he died. The DC said, “After seeing the newspaper reports on the issue, I immediately took cognizance and constituted a high-level committee to find out how the incident took place. Once I get the report from the committee, I will initiate action against it.”
