Lalu Yadav can now go to Singapore for treatment as CBI court orders release of passport

Ranchi: RJD supremo Lalu Yadav will now be able to visit Singapore for treatment as the special CBI court has given its nod to release his passport.

On September 24 Lalu Yadav has been given an appointment by the doctors of Singapore. Earlier, the hearing of both the parties on the application for release of passport was completed in the first half on Friday and the court said that it will deliver its verdict in the afternoon.

Earlier, Lalu Prasad’s advocate Prabhat Kumar had told that after the completion of the hearing of both sides in the case, it was told by the court that the verdict in this matter would be pronounced in the afternoon. Under the bail conditions, his passport was deposited in the CBI court. His lawyer Prabhat Kumar filed an application in the court of Special CBI Judge Dinesh Rai regarding the issuance of a passport.

Lalu Prasad had submitted his passport after renewal in the CBI court on August 31. His passport was renewed on 12 August 2022. The validity of the passport is till 11 August 2023. During the surrender of the passport, his lawyer had said that if Lalu Yadav has to go somewhere outside the treatment, then after getting the appointment of the doctor, the passport will be released again from the court.
