HC strict over setting up of TOP post trespassing in Law University

Ranchi: The hearing over the case of a youth entering the National Law University campus in Kanke by climbing the wall was held in the Jharkhand High Court on Friday. In the matter, it was told by the VC of the Law University that an inquiry committee has been constituted by the Law College regarding the developments of that day, which will submit its report before the college on Monday.

After the arrival of this report, the management will take the initiative in the direction of further action. At the same time in view of the security in the Law University campus, it was told by the state government that 24-hour police patrol vehicle duty has been imposed there and there is continuous patrolling.

In view of the security, five policemen have been deployed at the Law University for security at other places including the gate. The debris near the boundary wall has been removed. Asbestos seat has been installed on the railing of the Ring Road to close what was visible from the Ring Road to the Girls Hostel of the Law College so that the College Hostel is not visible from outside.

The High Court asked the government as to what action has been taken so far to make the TOP near the Law University and asked to file an affidavit. The court was told that the proposal regarding making the TOP has been prepared, it has been sent to the Home Department. 

The matter was heard in bench headed by Chief Justice of the High Court, Dr Ravi Ranjan. Few days ago a youth had entered inside the campus of Law University located in Kanke police station area of the capital Ranchi.
