Justice Has Been Served,’ Says Indian Army After Striking 9 Terror Sites Deep Inside Pakistan

New Delhi (IANS): The Indian Army announced on Wednesday that it had carried out strikes on nine locations deep inside Pakistan, in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

“In a precision operation conducted a short while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor,’ targeting terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These sites were being used to plan and coordinate attacks against India,” the Army stated in an official press release.

The Army also posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account: “Justice is served. Jai Hind.”

“In total, nine terrorist locations were targeted. Our actions were deliberate, measured, and non-escalatory. No Pakistani military installations were hit. India has exercised significant restraint in both target selection and execution methods,” the statement emphasized.

The strikes come in retaliation for the brutal Pahalgam terrorist attack, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national.

“We remain committed to ensuring that those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable. A detailed briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’ will follow later today,” the Army added.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed the Indian strikes, stating that missile attacks were carried out in Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad. He described them as “cowardly acts” amidst heightened tensions following the deadly militant attack in occupied Kashmir.

The escalating tension between the two nuclear-armed neighbors follows the Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 civilians—mostly tourists—dead.
