Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam presented in the court, sent to jail after 14 days of interrogation

Ranchi:  After completion of the remand period of Minister Alamgir Alam, accused of money laundering related to the tender scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) presented him in the Special Court of Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) amid tight security.

After this, the court sent Alamgir Alam to Birsa Munda Central Jail in judicial custody.

With the permission of the court, ED has interrogated Alamgir Alam thrice so far.

Many important revelations have also been made during the 14-day interrogation, on the basis of which the agency has interrogated the state’s senior IAS officer Manish Ranjan.

ED has called Manish Ranjan again for questioning on June 3.

On May 5, ED raided nine locations of Alamgir Alam including that of PS Sanjeev Lal.

During this period, ED had recovered Rs 35.23 crore from the premises of Sanjeev Lal’s assistants Jahangir Alam and Munna Singh.

After this, ED arrested Sanjeev Lal and Jahangir Alam late in the night.

After this, ED sent summons to Minister Alamgir Alam on 12th May and called him for questioning on 14th May.

On May 14, ED interrogated Alamgir for nine hours.

After this, on May 15, the agency arrested Alamgir Alam after six hours of interrogation.
