Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan presented an outstanding MLA Award for the year 2023 to Manika, Latehar MLA Ram Chandra Singh during the 23rd Foundation Day celebration of Jharkhand Assembly in Ranchi on Wednesday.
At the same time, excellent employees of the Assembly, Joint Secretary Mithlesh Kumar Mishra, Under Secretary Vishnu Paswan, Branch Officers Nilesh Kumar Singh and Niaz Ahmed, Senior Secretariat Assistant Tapas Kumar Yadav and Assistant Michael Lakra were also honoured.
The Governor honored everyone by giving them citation, shawl and memento. The outstanding MLA was given an honorarium of Rs 51 thousand and each selected officer and employee was given an honorarium of Rs 21 thousand.
On this occasion, Speaker Rabindranath Mahato appealed that all of us, people of the party and the opposition, should forget our contradictions and resolve to develop the country and the state. Apart from the outstanding MLAs and personnel, families of martyred police and army personnel were also honoured.
Matriculation and Intermediate toppers, sportspersons and people who have done excellent work in various fields of society were honored. Martyr Amar Kumar, Shaheed Kumar Gaurav, Salima Tete, Player Nikki Pradhan, Player Ankita Bhagat, Player Shashi Shekhar, Mountaineer Pankaj Kumar, Mountaineer Chami Murmu, For Women Empowerment Chhotni Mahato, Social Worker Alok Chaudhary, for science communication Alok Dubey, for awareness in education.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the assembly is the highest panchayat of the state. This Mahapanchayat is above the temple, mosque and gurudwara. Here policies are made not only for the common people of the state but also for the water, forests, land and animals of Jharkhand.
Thousands and lakhs of people send their representatives here with great expectations. The representatives who reach the Assembly become the voice of those people with whom they have never lived and whom they have never met.
CM said that we will have to avoid breaking, collapsing and causing damage to this Mahapanchayat at any cost. On the occasion of the foundation day of the Assembly, Governor CP Radhakrishnan said that it is our responsibility to perform our duty honestly in the House.
Said that it is a matter of happiness that both the Chief Minister of Jharkhand and the Leader of Opposition are symbols of youth power. Both are very energetic and both will do better work. The Governor said that the democratic system is not for personal gain. We have to think about the welfare of the people. To make the Jharkhand Assembly better than other assemblies of the country, we will have to rise above party sentiments and work.
