Jharkhand Governor and Chief Minister to inaugurate the opening ceremony of Asian Women’s Hockey Championship on October 27

Ranchi : Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Hemant Soren to inaugurate the opening ceremony of Asian Women’s Hockey Championship Tournament at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi on Friday.

Asian Hockey Championship to be started from October 27 and will be held till November 5. Tournament is organized by the Government of Jharkhand. International Hockey Matches to be played in the stadium. Every Day Three matches are held in the stadium.

Semi-Final and Final Hockey Matches to be held on November 4 and 5. Participating teams are India, Japan, China, Thailand, South Korea and Malaysia. India’s Hockey Captain Savita Punia said, we are ready to host such an event on a grand scale.

Our game plan has been prepared. She added, we will impress through our performance. Every Match is important for us. We are going to face the first match with Thailand. She said, Every Player is important. We have a World Class team.

Ranchi Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) appealed to the people of Ranchi to have a culture of ‘Aththi Devo Bhava’. Large Number of Police Personnel will be deployed during the tournament. Entry of spectators will be free of cost.
