Jharkhand celebrates Diwali with religious enthusiasm and gaiety

Ranchi: The festival of lights, Diwali was celebrated in Jharkhand with religious enthusiasm and traditional gaiety.

The festival was celebrated in the traditional way, with lamps and lights lighting up cities and towns, fairs and festivities, and worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha.

This was the first festival after the second wave of Covid, which was celebrated with almost no restrictions due to Covid 19 in the state. Almost every house of the state was decorated with colourful lights while children and elders wore new clothes to celebrate the occasion.

Diwali is celebrated too in honor of Lord Ram returning to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile on the orders of King Dashrath, his father. Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Hemant Soren along with other political leaders and state ministers wished the people on the festival of Diwali.

The state police had also made elaborate security at the marketplaces and other sensitive areas to maintain law and order during the festival.
