IED blast in Chaibasa, Assistant Commandant injured

Ranchi:  CRPF 197 battalion jawan CP Tiwari has been injured in an IED blast during the ongoing operation against Naxalites in Chaibasa. He was hit by an IED splinter, due to which he was injured. They had gone on a search operation. During this the IED blast happened. The incident took place in Tumbahata.

Due to serious injuries in the incident, he has been brought to Ranchi for better treatment. He has been admitted to Medica Hospital. His condition is said to be stable. On July 17 also, during the search operation, an IED blast took place. ASI Devendra Kumar of CRPF 60 Battalion was injured in that blast. This incident of blast took place on the road going from Kuida to Hathiburu under Goilkera police station area. He was also treated at Medica Hospital.

Confirming the incident, SP of West Singhbhum district Ashutosh Shekhar said that a jawan was injured in the blast. After first aid, he was sent to Ranchi for better treatment. Police and security force personnel are cordoning off the area and conducting a search operation. 

During the search operation, the jawan was injured due to the blast. Campaign against Naxalites is going on in the entire Chaibasa including Goilkera and Tonto police station area of the district. District police and security forces have been deployed in this.

A massive campaign is being run by them. There have been several incidents of IED blasts planted by Maoists targeting security forces. Due to its grip, many villagers have died so far. While many security forces personnel have also been injured. In the midst of all this, the police are also getting continuous success in this campaign against the Naxalites.
