IAS shortage in Jharkhand to go away, 11 officers to be available in December

Ranchi:  The shortage of IAS officers in Jharkhand will be removed. By December, 11 officers from the State Administrative Service will be promoted to IAS cadre. For this, 33 names were sent to UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

As a rule, there is a provision to send three names against one post. UPSC meeting regarding this was held on 20th November, in which Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh also participated. The officers who are to be promoted to IAS cadre are officers of BPSC 38th batch.

Last year, 40 officers of the State Administrative Service were promoted to the IAS cadre. This promotion was given against the vacancy of 2010, 2020 and 2021. 

According to the information, the names of Vijay Kumar Gupta, Rajiv Ranjan, Ranjit Lal, Vidhanchandra Chaudhary, Sunil Kumar, Krishna Kumar, Sunil Kumar Singh and Shailendra Kumar are prominently included. At present only 184 IAS are working in Jharkhand cadre. Whereas the number of sanctioned posts is 224.

Accordingly, there is a shortage of 40 officers. With the promotion of 11 officers in the IAS cadre, the number of IAS officers will increase to 195.
