Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that he does not regret the mine allocated to him nor fears the actions of the central investigating agencies or even his arrest. In an interaction with the media as his government completes three years in power on Thursday he said that when he was not in politics he had the mine and in the course of his political journey he went on to become a member of Rajya Sabha an MLA Deputy
Chief Minister and even Chief Minister.
But his friends in the opposition could not see those things, he said, adding that the people in the opposition know that the government is sitting strongly on the chair and it was not possible for them to remove it from the chair. However in the country a new political definition is being worked out where an environment of horse trading and misuse of the central agencies is being done but he was not worried as he was not a businessman nor represented the capitalists or industrialists.
He said that he represented the tribal dalits, the poor and the minorities and anyone who works honestly has to face these challenges in the country at present. The Chief Minister said that his government has already set a benchmark and the ‘gadi’ (car) is already into the second gear which now needs to be taken into the top gear.
He said that there was a need to change the activities of the people into momentum. He said that the government is also focused on addressing other burning issues of the state like unemployment and rights to the adivasis and moolvasis of the state.
To a query he said that when Dishom Guru Shibu Soren could be arrested what about Hemant Soren… as when Guruji was the Coal Minister he was made to face so much of trouble but he is too not afraid of the arrest and pointed that when he will not be in power there will be no such talks and he will continue to be the voice of the poor dalits and tribals. Hemant Soren said that in the recruitment examination held in 2016, 75 percent of jobs were bagged by outsiders.
He said that those who are in the reserved category have no fear as they will get their dues but what about the people in the general category and he had tried to create jobs for them and prevent it from being taken away by outsiders.
He said that the main reason behind sending the matter to the ninth schedule is that many times such challenges come and the policies get canceled by the court but people should get their rights. However, he said that he will find a way as it was not possible to stop the flow of the water as despite all the obstacles it is bound to chart out its own course.
Over the demand of Parasnath not to be made a place of tourism he said that it was not possible to take up a decision over a single issue as there are many religious spots in the state like Baba Dham etc therefore his government will take whatever decision is appropriate keeping the larger picture in mind.
On the financial condition of the state, he said that the GST year is over therefore he had asked the centre to continue the same for another five years as this would lead to losses worth Rs 5,000 crore every year for Jharkhand. He said that one should not see Jharkhand from the eyes of Gujarat as it is already a backward state and if that happens the state will further go back.
He said that on numerous occasions he has also raised the issue of the Centre owing Rs 1.36 lakh crore to the state and due to the efforts of the state government Rs 1200-Rs 1300 has come.
The Chief Minister said that his government is also focused on generating new resources and exploring new avenues of revenue earning. On the issue of illegal transportation of minerals and ores via the railways, he said that soon an SIT will be formed for which cooperation of the centre would be sought to make the entire system of minerals transportation leakage proof.
He said that so far the system of transportation of iron ore and coal has been linked with the portal of the Government of India but also other minerals and ores should be done the same way.
Regarding his relationship with the Raj Bhawan, he said that it will be not correct on his part to comment on the Governor who is sitting on a constitutional post however the incidents which have happened indicate a double game being played and it will be apt on the part of the Governor to clarify as to whether he has come to do politics in the state or serve on the constitutional post.
However, as far as the opposition was concerned it was having a deep sleep like Kumbhakaran imaging the Chief Minister in handcuffs and they coming to power but anything like that is not going to happen in the state.
