Ranchi: Hundreds of candidates on Tuesday protested in Ranchi demanding the cancellation of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) 7th to 10th examination over alleged irregularities committed to declaring the results of the PT Exam. As per the pre-planned programme candidates from 24 districts of the state had reached the JPSC headquarters on Tuesday morning. However, were forced away from the spot by the administration and were not allowed to stage a dharna there.
They later reached Morabadi grounds and again reached at the JPSC headquarters. In the end, the administration had the students hold talks with the officials of JPSC. During this, all the candidates also indulged in slogan shouting. They pointed that even the cut-off has not been released after the declaration of the result. The candidates have alleged that the youth are being cheated and jobs are being distributed on the basis of money. The agitating candidates demanded that the 7th to 10th JPSC PT exam be cancelled.
Along with that they also demanded giving relaxation in the age limit, increasing the seats, creating inter-district examination centers and conducting the examination transparently on the basis of the selection process. The agitating candidates said that a lot of wrongs has been done in the result of JPSC’s PT. The result is opposite to the expectation. The candidates sitting bench-wise from the same center in Sahibganj, Latehar, Lohardaga and Hazaribagh districts have been passed. The questions were asked out of syllabus by JPSC. Despite all this, the highest cut-off ever was reached.
The provision of 5 percent reservation for the differently-abled in the PT examination has not been followed they claimed to add that apart from this women’s reservation, soldier’s reservation has also not been followed. They said that according to the advertisement the 15 times results on the basis of the number of posts available have also not been followed. The agitating students have alleged that some students who scored low marks have also been passed out. That is why the commission is also not releasing the cut-off as if the JPSC will release the cut-off of the pass candidates and thousands of discrepancies will come to the fore.
