High Court refuses to stay the order to hold municipal and body elections in three weeks

Ranchi : The double bench of Jharkhand High Court has refused to stay the order of the single bench, in which the court had ordered the state government to announce civic elections in three weeks.

The court of High Court judge Justice Anand Sen had passed the order in this case on January 4.

The state government had moved the double bench against this order.

In fact, outgoing councilor Roshni Khalkho and others had approached the High Court demanding early elections of municipal corporations and bodies in the state.

Now the court will hear this case after two weeks.

The bench of High Court judges Justice S Chandrashekhar and Justice Navneet Kumar heard this case.

Additional Advocate General Sachin Kumar presented the case on behalf of the state government.

Advocate Vinod Singh argued on behalf of the outgoing councillors.
