Ranchi: Badkagaon MLA Amba Prasad and her brother Ankit Raj reached the ED office on Monday. After which both of them are being interrogated by ED officials. Earlier both had not appeared before the ED, and had sought 15 days’ time from the ED. As the ED did not give time, both of them appeared before the ED on Monday.
Earlier on April 3, ED had interrogated Amba’s father and former minister Yogendra Sao. ED has registered ECIR against Amba and her family members by combining the FIRs lodged in various police stations of Hazaribagh. In this, other allegations have been made including extortion, levy collection, illegal trade of sand.
After registering the ECIR, on March 12, ED raided 20 locations of Amba Prasad, Yogendra Sao and their relatives and close people. During the raid, mobiles and other digital devices of the MLA and his family members were seized. ED had sent summons to Yogendra Sao, Amba Prasad and Ankit Raj and directed them to appear for further investigation and questioning in this case.
ED interrogated former minister Yogendra Sao on April 3. Also, data was extracted from his digital device in his presence. During the interrogation, information about the sources of her income was taken from Yogendra Saav.
After this, questions were asked related to the business activities and income of the companies included in the scope of the raid. Yogendra Sao’s answers to questions related to the functioning of companies were found contradictory.
