Health Minister reviews Coronavirus situation in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: Health Minister Banna Gupta on Sunday reviewed the Coronavirus situation in the district during which he asked the authorities to make preparations in advance for the third wave of the pandemic.

He said that there was a need to do more tests and since in the third wave more impact has been predicted on children, therefore, all preparations needed to be made in advance. He said that to check the spread of Coronavirus in the rural areas there was a need to spread awareness, increase vaccination and break the chain of Coronavirus. He said that in the markets and haats social distancing should be made mandatory.

The minister directed that the medicine shop owners should put a display list regarding the availability and rate of oxymeter, masks, sanitizers, steam inhalers and medicines needed for Covid treatment. He asked the drug inspectors to make surprise visits at the shops to check the rates and ensure that there in black marketing happening.

The minister asked the authorities to collect the data regarding the use of Redmesivir injections from the hospitals and also collect details regarding the patients to whom the injections have been given.

Banna Gupta said that he too has received complaints that the private hospitals are charging more money for treatment of Covid patients and asked them not to use pandemics as money-making opportunity. He also asked the Eastern Coalfields Ltd to extend full cooperation to the state government and district administration to tackle the pandemic and asked the company to provide jumbo cylinders, b type cylinders and ventilators.

The Minister assured that there will no lack of vaccines in the state as order for 50 lakh vaccines has been already placed by the government. He said that at present 2.34 lakh doses of vaccines are present in the state. The Minister said that through CSR ICU beds will be increased in Giridih and Bokaro districts which will help to reduce the load of patients on Dhanbad.
