Ranchi: In a shocking incident, a seven-year-old girl has been brutally raped and murdered in the Chanho police station area of Ranchi. The heinous crime took place late Tuesday night, where the innocent child was sexually assaulted and then strangled to death.

Reports indicate that the accused, Raju Oraon, has confessed to the crime. It is alleged that he, a resident of Bajpur in the Ratu police station area, had visited his in-laws in a village in Chanho. On Tuesday evening, he took the girl to the Sarhul Mela in Bijupada, where he committed the horrific act and subsequently abandoned her body in a field.
