Ranchi: The Excise Department team conducted a raid on illegal liquor units in the Namkum area of Ranchi. On Thursday, following the instructions of the Assistant Commissioner of Excise, a crackdown was carried out on illegal country liquor units operating along the riverbanks and fields in Hesapidi village.
During the raid, 10 illicit liquor units were destroyed. Additionally, around 12,000 kilograms of jowar mahua (used for brewing) were confiscated, along with 400 liters of country liquor.
Following the operation, cases have been registered under the Excise Act against six accused. Further investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend other suspects involved. The Excise Department team provided this information.
